Title: The Grand Canyon: Erosion or Catastrophic Event?
Time: Book Table opens at 6:30 pm.

Location: Hosted by Second Presbyterian Church at 105 River Street, Greenville SC (map) A Love Offering will be collected to help sponsor future programs on creation issues.

Based on a recent rafting trip in the Grand Canyon, Dr. Beam will discuss the evidence for a catastrophic event as opposed to the slow forces of erosion in the formation of the Grand Canyon; presence of marine fossils; comparisons to the Loowit Canyon formation at Mt. Saint Helens; problems with radioisotope dating; and the clash of worldviews represented in the accepted view of the Grand Canyon’s formation.

Dr. Tony Beam is Vice-President for Student Services and Director of the Christian Worldview Center at North Greenville University in Tigerville, SC.

Dr. Beam received his B.A. from Limestone College in 1980 and a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina in 1990. In May of 2002, Beam completed his Doctor of Ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary as well.

Pastor Beam has served Christ in church programs for over 14 years including a Senior Pastor. Dr. Beam is Interim Pastor at the Whitefield Baptist Church in Anderson, SC.

Dr. Beam is also the host of Christian Worldview Today, a radio program of Christian Talk 660. Christian Worldview Today can be found at 660 AM, 92.9 FM, and online at ChristianTalk660.com. He has conducted radio interviews with many of our creation speakers.

Update on the new ACSG

The Second meeting of the Anderson Creation Study Group (“ACSG”) will meet 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Concord Community Church, 620 Concord Road, Anderson.

We plan to view a few short video clips on “hot” creation topics like the Nature of Science, Origin of “Races”, the Global Flood, and Radiometric Dating. A Q&A discussion time will follow.
